What’s been going down at DDHQ?

Can you believe we’re half way through 2017 already?!
We have been so busy this year and thought we’d give you a quick re-cap of the major DD events of 2017 so far. We’ll use lots of pictures because too many words gives us a headache, and well, the pictures we have are really pretty.

We have an entire wall of drum heads. Yes, an entire wall. Our stock holding of drumheads is so big we’ve nicknamed our new wall ‘The Library’.

Pretty isn’t it? It’s practical too. Come see for yourself…

Not only have we been adding things into DD, we’ve also been taking away…. Sometimes less is more… Take a look… There’s ‘less’ of a wall!

Mark Guiliana swung by in June and did an amazing drum clinic and masterclass. That guy is awesome and everyone who got involved had a blast.

Cool eh?

You guys know we have a cymbal vault yeh? Jam packed full of cymbals. Well, get this. We weren’t content with it being full, we wanted it bursting so we’ve added to our cymbal range and we’re proud to tell you we’re now official stockists of Dream Cymbals.

That’s right, pinch yourself. This is definitely not a dream. Pop in store to check out our ever expanding room of all things shiny.

We’ve recently completed our 5th Drum Depot Monday Club and each and every one has been a huge success. From Kaz Rodriguez to snare drum surgery, from Jiffy’s practice pad workout to Aled’s private masterclass with Pembrokeshire Music Services.

You just can’t get enough of our one monthly Monday night madness that is the #DDMC.

Awwww…, and then there’s our #GivingBack campaign. This is really close to our hearts. Over the last 4 weeks we’ve treated over 100 randomly chosen customers to an evening at the Principality Stadium to enjoy the sights and sounds of Robbie Williams & the world famous Justin Bieber.

We also “gave back” to several different charities and in the process provided over 1000 disadvantaged children & families the chance to experience the buzz and excitement of a live concert in our capital city. For many of these children this would have been their 1st ever live gig as well as their 1st ever experience of coming to Cardiff.

As you know, DD is a store run by drummers for drummers. Big H (Harry) has been touring UK and Europe with Astroid Boys and next he has a long tour with Enter Shikari. Pross (Adam) is currently on tour with Into The Ark (finalists from ITV’s The Voice) and then off on a support tour with Tom Jones. As we are continually expanding, it means we take on more staff and this week, drummer with touring band Zervas and Pepper, Sam, joins us as a fully fledged member of the DD Crew. Employing touring drummers means we can keep up with all the latest drum trends enabling us to learn and keep up to date with what’s going on out there.

It’s been a long time coming but we are very pleased to say Sonor is back at DD. The Bentley of drums has made a most welcome return and we’ve got some cheeky things lined up over the next few months. More coming soon, but for now check this beautiful SQ1 out.

We’re off to the London Drum Show. We’ve been asked for the past few years to attend and exhibit but always turned it down. This year the opportunity was presented to us once again and we decided to go along with the our mates from BR Distribution. It’s going to be so much fun!

Before we go to the biggest drumshow in all of the land we’re gonna have our very own Drumfest with those lovely people from Yamaha. A three day weekend of clinics, classes, workshops etc as well as the #FUTUREBEAT drum competition for Under 18’s.

Grab more info on Yamaha Drumfest 2017 and here’s how you enter the #FUTUREBEAT competition.

Last but not least… we have one very important date for your diary. Cancel any gigs that you may have, summer holidays can take a back seat to this event, and well, let’s just say Drum Depot is about to get you hot, hot, hot….It’s the annual DD Sale!!

Sunday 30th July 2017. #DDSS. (Drum Depot Summer Sale). More info coming via email soon.
